Quinta do Algarvio is a brand-new luxury apartment complex completed in summer 2019. The accommodation is beautifully situated on the hillside above the charming village of Carvoeiro, with a bright and sunny resort feel around the heated (26 degrees) saltwater pool. In short, this is accommodation of the very highest class.

At Quinta do Algarvio, you stay in bright, well-appointed, spacious townhouse apartments with modern, tasteful furnishings and beautiful décor across two floors (there is also a very limited number of single-floor apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms). On the ground floor, you have a very well-equipped open-plan kitchen with dining area, a large living room, a toilet and your own terrace overlooking the pool area. On the upper floor are two bright, spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom – one with a shower/bath and one with a shower. The state-of-the-art efficient air-conditioning means you quickly achieve the ideal temperature in your apartment, and the underfloor heating in the bathrooms is wonderfully soothing for your feet after a day on the golf course. Of course, there is excellent wi-fi and a large modern flat-screen TV with international channels. Cleaning takes place every 7 days, including fresh bed linen and towels.

Quinta do Algarvio's resort area is gated, has a reception desk and you park right next to your townhouse where there is a handy small storage unit for your golf equipment at your own parking space.

Carvoeiro, beautifully situated on the cliffs above the Atlantic, is a fantastic destination for visitors seeking a calm and relaxing break in a characterful and charming village. The peaceful atmosphere is filled with many lovely little restaurants, cafés and bars serving fresh fish, fine meat dishes and locally grown vegetables and fruit. Throughout and around Carvoeiro, many PT Golf guests gather and meet, which creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a chance to unwind with fellow golfers – new and old – at our competitions, social events and dinners. From the accommodation, it is just over 2 km down to Carvoeiro's characteristic and beautiful sandy beach and the small town's charming centre with its restaurants, cafés and small shops.

There are virtually unlimited exciting excursions in the surrounding area. Just a few hundred metres east of the town centre and beach lies Algar Seco, an impressive cave formation created by Atlantic erosion over millennia. A few kilometres further west, those interested in caves will be delighted by Praia de Benagil, which you can visit by boat from the small village of Benagil. These cave formations are considered among Europe's finest. To the west, a visit to picturesque Ferragudo is highly recommended, and if you fancy a taste of 'big-city buzz', a visit to Portimão with its wide range of restaurants and cultural attractions is suggested.

From Quinta do Algarvio, you can easily reach many of the courses in the golf package. To the favourites Gramacho and Pinta it is just a 5-minute drive, and to equally popular Silves it takes only a quarter of an hour. The very lovely and easy-walking twin courses Alamos and Morgado (where the European Tour was played) are about 25 minutes' drive to the north-west.

Booking your own tee times is done via email, telephone and/or visits to the courses/clubs, and in the guest portal where pre-booked tee times are reserved for PT Golf guests. Entries for our competitions are made in the guest portal.

In the guest portal you can book 10 rounds of golf (your own play and competitions) before you arrive, whilst the remaining rounds are booked on-site in Algarve according to the principle 'play one, book one'. The tee time booking in the guest portal is shared by all our guests in West Algarve, which means variety and playing with both new and old friends.

We consider West Algarve to extend from Albufeira and westwards. This was where Portuguese explorers set sail in the 15th century on their voyages of discovery around the world. The landscape features mountains inland, rolling cliffs to the west and flatter coastline to the east. In the cities of Silves and Lagos, you can feel history's presence and see preserved traces of the Moorish past and the age of exploration. Algarve's least developed area is the north-western corner with its protected nature reserves, untouched beaches, wild coastlines and dramatic cliffs. Here you'll find Europe's most south-westerly point, Cabo de São Vicente, where the mighty Atlantic makes an awe-inspiring impression.

The hub is Alvor and Portimão with their long beaches and genuine fishing harbours. From here you can reach everything from championship golf courses to the cliff drama of Ponta da Piedade, and in the evening you can enjoy cataplana in the harbour quarters or watch the sunset from Lagos' ancient walls. In winter you'll often have both the golf courses and beaches almost to yourself – and prices are at their best.
