Quinta dos Amigos is a personal, affordable, and charming retreat in Central Algarve – perfect for those seeking peace, character, and contact to some of Portugal’s finest golf courses. Located in the quiet town of Almancil, it offers a balance of local life and easy access to the coast and golf.

Set within a lovingly restored 19th-century farmhouse, this family-owned property has been run by Isabel Vilela since 1990. With whitewashed walls, cobbled walkways, and lush inner courtyards, it feels more like staying with close friends than at a typical holiday resort.

The property offers 20 individually decorated apartments – from cosy studios to spacious three-bedroom units – each with its own personality. On-site, you’ll find three swimming pools, including a quiet pool ideal for reading or relaxed laps. One of the pools is heated during the winter season. The garden is green and tranquil, with plenty of shared spaces for both social time and quiet moments.

There’s also a small on-site restaurant serving local flavours, a coffee corner, a mini-market, and access to massage, yoga, and other relaxing activities. Guests especially appreciate the personal atmosphere, and many leave a book behind in the little library as a greeting to the next visitor. It’s no surprise that many return year after year.

For golfers, the location is hard to beat. Vale do Lobo is just 2.2 km away, and within a 5–6 km radius you’ll find Quinta do Lago and Vila Sol golf courses. If you want to explore even more courses, the western Algarve options – such as Gramacho, Salgados, Silves, Alamos, and Amendoeira Faldo & O’Connor – are all reachable within 20 to 35 minutes by car.

But there’s more to this location than golf. Almancil is a year-round town with a strong local identity. You’ll find markets, shops, and some of the Algarve’s most celebrated restaurants – including three with Michelin stars. Just 10 minutes away lies Quarteira, a seaside town with a relaxed, genuine charm. Its long beachfront promenade is lined with cafés, restaurants, and shops. The lively market near Largo do Mercado bursts to life every morning, offering fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, and flowers – all locally sourced. On Wednesdays, the area turns into a colourful open-air market with everything from clothes and crafts to Portuguese delicacies and souvenirs.

For Pinheiros Altos and other courses, you can easily book through our Guest Portal, where PT Golf guests have access to pre-reserved tee times. You’re also welcome to book directly with the courses once you’re on-site.

Our local tournaments are often played at Vila Sol, and registration is easily done via our Guest Portal. You can book up to 10 rounds in advance from home – including both casual play and competitions. Remaining rounds are booked on-site, following a “play one – book one” principle, giving you flexibility and the chance to mix and match playing partners throughout your stay.

Upon arrival, you’ll receive your golf vouchers from our on-site host, who will also be available throughout your stay to assist with bookings, course tips, and support.
