How delighted we are to welcome back Vista Marina, one of our classic guest favourites, to our programme! During the 'pandemic pause', the accommodation has been completely refurbished and upgraded, and the spacious bright apartments with 1 bedroom are now beautifully refreshed.
Everything you need for a wonderful stay in Portimão is here. Vista Marina has been one of our most popular and best-value accommodations for many years. Many guests return to Vista Marina year after year. The accommodation sits beautifully where the Arade river meets the Atlantic, and it's a pleasant walk along the riverfront to all the restaurants, cafés and bars in Portimão's charming old town.
Vista Marina offers very spacious and bright apartments with one bedroom, a bathroom, a large living room, a well-equipped kitchen and a large balcony. The living room features a comfortable seating area with a sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and is ideal for a lovely longstay. All apartments enjoy unobstructed views over the Arade river, the charming little fishing village of Ferragudo and a glimpse of the Atlantic.
Vista Marina offers a newly renovated indoor pool and a fresh gym on the ground floor, open year-round. These facilities are available to our guests and provide the perfect way to unwind and look after yourself after an intensive day on the course. Praia da Rocha beach is known as Algarve's finest and broadest beach, with a wooden promenade. The sheltered beach is about 10–15 minutes' walk from the accommodation. A large green area surrounds the hotel pool.
In Portimão you'll find a lovely food market (mercado), several department stores and the Aqua shopping centre. On the main street above Praia da Rocha you'll find the well-known Casino Algarve with shows and concerts. Also visit the museum, housed in the old sardine factory, which tells the story of how this 'national product' was cleaned and packaged.

From Portimão you can easily reach many of the courses in your golf package. The charming Alto and classic Penina are closest, both within 15–20 minutes' drive. Other courses are within 30–45 minutes' drive.

To book your own tee times, please contact courses by email, phone and/or visit them, or use the guest portal where pre-booked tee times are reserved for PT Golf guests. Entries for our competitions are made through the guest portal.
In the guest portal you can book 10 rounds of golf (your own play and competitions) from home, while remaining rounds are booked on site in Algarve following the 'play one, book one' principle. Tee time booking in the guest portal is shared amongst all our guests in Western Algarve, which gives you variety and the chance to play with both new and old friends.

Accommodation details
West Algarve
We consider West Algarve to extend from Albufeira and westwards. This was where Portuguese explorers set sail in the 15th century on their voyages of discovery around the world. The landscape features mountains inland, rolling cliffs to the west and flatter coastline to the east. In the cities of Silves and Lagos, you can feel history's presence and see preserved traces of the Moorish past and the age of exploration. Algarve's least developed area is the north-western corner with its protected nature reserves, untouched beaches, wild coastlines and dramatic cliffs. Here you'll find Europe's most south-westerly point, Cabo de São Vicente, where the mighty Atlantic makes an awe-inspiring impression.
The hub is Alvor and Portimão with their long beaches and genuine fishing harbours. From here you can reach everything from championship golf courses to the cliff drama of Ponta da Piedade, and in the evening you can enjoy cataplana in the harbour quarters or watch the sunset from Lagos' ancient walls. In winter you'll often have both the golf courses and beaches almost to yourself – and prices are at their best.
