Belmar

The popular Belmar Resort is located in the south-west corner of Lagos, right by the sea with a beautiful view of the vast sandy beach of Praia de Mós. In just five minutes’ walking distance, down on the beach, are two very good and popular restaurants that serve the fish of the day as well as good meat dishes.

At Belmar Resort there are apartments with one or two bedrooms. New from 2022 is that the one-bedroom apartments have been divided into ’standard’ and Premium with sea view, the latter with a higher price. The apartments with two bedrooms are also available as Townhouses on two floors with a patio, balcony and roof terrace as well as Penthouse ”top floor” with a terrace and sea view.

At this distinguished resort there is a very exclusive SPA with heated indoor pool, sauna, steam bath and a very well-equipped gym where everything is included for our guests. In the lobby is the Levante restaurant, which serves an appreciated Mediterranean-inspired menu and also provides room service. The lobby bar is open all day and is a perfect stop for a coffee or other drink before/after golf – the accommodation’s logical meeting point.

Lagos is well known for all its small nice restaurants, most of which are located in the old town. Down by the fishing harbor there are smaller street restaurants (tascas) that serve good fish dishes – catch of the day. Lagos is a vibrant city all year round with a bustling folk life and a varied cultural offering for entertainment alongside the golf.

The excursion destinations in the area are many and varied. Cabo San Vincente – where Henry the Navigator (Enrique el Navegante) had his nautical school – is well worth a visit. There are beautiful viewpoints and an interesting museum here. The Atlantic coast Costa Vicentina which stretches north from Cabo San Vincente is very scenic and interesting with many smaller fishing villages in a wild sea nature. A nice lunch excursion after golf is suggested to the small pleasant village of Burgau where you eat your lunch down by the beach. Driving time approx. 10 min.

From Lagos you can easily reach many of the courses in the golf package. The closest are the immensely popular Palmares, Boavista and Espiche, all within 15-20 minutes’ drive. Other tracks can be reached within 30-45 minutes by car.

Our unique West Algarve – Optional Golf package includes 15 different golf courses along the coast, from Santo António in the far west to Vila Sol in Vilamoura.

From the accommodation, you can easily and quickly reach several of the courses in the golf package, and no course is more than three quarters of a mile away by car. They all have their quirks and charms, not only in terms of course layout and scorecards, but also in terms of clubhouse, restaurant and facilities. try around and find just your/your favourites!

Time bookings for your own game are made via email, phone and/or visits to the courses/clubs as well as in the Guest Portal, where pre-booked times are earmarked for PT Golf’s Guests. Registration for our competitions is done in the Guest Portal.

In the Guest Portal, 10 rounds (own game and competitions) can be booked from home, while the rest can be booked on site in the Algarve according to the ’play one, book one’ principle. The time booking in the Guest Portal is common to all our Guests in the Western Algarve, which provides variety and games together with both new and old friends.
