Belmar Beach Resort is located in the southwest corner of Lagos, right on the long sandy beach of Praia do Mos. Here, the freedom of living in your own apartment is combined with the comforts of a well-equipped SPA hotel. You live with the sea as your neighbor and are only a five-minute walk from two popular beach restaurants serving both fish and meat dishes.
The resort offers apartments with one or two bedrooms, all with kitchens for self-catering. The studios are available as standard or premium with sea views. The two-bedroom apartments always have sea views and in about 90% of cases both bathrooms are ensuite. There are also townhouses on two floors with a patio, balcony and roof terrace, as well as penthouses at the top with a large terrace and panoramic views of the sea - these are offered on request.
At Belmar there is a modern indoor SPA with a heated pool, sauna, steam room and a well-equipped gym - all free for our guests to use. There is also a nice restaurant, an inviting lobby bar and common areas that make it easy to socialize before or after golf.
Lagos is a lively city all year round with a wide range of restaurants and cafes. In the city's historic center - one of the Algarve's most charming city centers - you will find cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses with colorful doors and windows, and small squares lined with cafes and restaurants. The old city wall, which once protected the city from pirates and invaders, can still be seen in several places. You can also visit Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, a well-preserved fortress from the 17th century, and Mercado de Escravos, a museum in the old slave market house that tells about an important part of Portugal's history. Together with small shops, galleries, markets and a lively folk life, this makes Lagos a city where every walk offers new discoveries.
The area around Lagos offers some of the Algarve's most spectacular beaches. Praia Dona Ana beckons with its golden cliffs and turquoise waters, while Praia do Camilo is reached via a long wooden staircase and offers one of the region's most iconic views. At Ponta da Piedade, dramatic rock formations, caves and natural arches await - a place that is as impressive from land as it is from a boat or kayak.
To the west you will find charming coastal villages such as Luz and Burgau, perfect for a lunch by the sea after a round of golf. A little further away is Costa Vicentina, a protected coastal landscape with wild beaches and small fishing villages that feel untouched by time. In just over half an hour by car you can also reach Cabo de São Vicente, Portugal's westernmost point, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the horizon in dramatic views.
For those who want even more city life, there is Portimão with shopping, a marina and restaurants, and to the west the surfing culture awaits in Sagres.
In terms of golf, the location is excellent - in 15-20 minutes you can reach Palmares, Boavista and Espiche. Several other courses, both east and west, are within a 30-45 minute drive. As our guest here, you have access to our entire unique golf package Western Algarve – Optional Golf, which means playing on 15 different golf courses along the coast, from Santo António in the far west to Vila Sol in Vilamoura. There is truly something here for all playing levels and tastes. Long and tough or shorter and more technical. Flat and walkable or hilly and breathtaking. Play on just one or a few courses, or try a new course “every day”. The possibilities are almost endless!
Booking times for your own game is primarily done via our Guest Portal (or app), where a basic range of starting times is reserved for our guests. It is also possible to book times via email, telephone or directly on site at the courses. Registration for our competitions is always done in the Guest Portal or app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own game and competitions – before arrival, while the remaining rounds are booked on site according to the principle “play one, book one”. The guest portal is shared by all our guests in the area, which provides the opportunity for varied games and pleasant fellowship with both new and familiar golf friends.
