Tavira Convento

Convento das Bernardas is a private condominium with its own parking centrally located in Tavira. Just a stone’s throw from Tavira’s fantastic market hall and within walking distance of the city center with its variety of food, drink and entertainment. Convento is the optimal choice for lovers of history and art.

The Convento dates back to the early 16th century when it was founded as a monastery. In 1890 it was converted into a food factory which was in operation until the 1960s. It was redesigned and restored by the architect Souto Moura into the high-class accommodation it is today. The accommodation has – in the magnificent courtyard – two saltwater pools, one of which is a full 400 square meters.

The apartments at Tavira Convento – note, very limited number – are all of a high standard and are located in the classic building surrounding the pool area. The very tastefully decorated apartments have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, large living room, well-equipped kitchen, good Wi-Fi and international TV channels. All apartments are duplex or triplex, i.e. with stairs between floors. Private parking is available in the garage under the building and outside in the courtyard.

Right outside the door you have Tavira’s characteristic salt beds where the ancient salt harvesting and production continues to this day. This grid of seawater pools that evaporate in the sun is also a paradise for waders, flamingos and other beautiful bird species. Take the chance to live in a historic and mythical accommodation in the historic and genuine city of Tavira.

The ’home club’ Benamor – where we have daily tee times, weekly competitions and great socialising on the 19th – is only 5 minutes away. The fantastic twin courses Quinta da Ría and Quinta da Cima can be reached in 10 minutes. Within half an hour you can also be at the challenging gem Quinta do Vale and the undulating scenic Castro Marim near the border.

On the other side of the bridge over the border river Guadiana are our Spanish courses Isla Canela Old Course, Isla Canela Links, El Rompido and more – all within an hour’s drive from Cabanas.

Our unique Voucher Eastern Algarve includes Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima. Benamor, Castro Marim, Quinta do Vale and our 8 courses in Western Spain. Please note that a free golf cart is included in this voucher on the slightly hilly Castro Marim and Quinta do Vale.

Bookings for your own game are made via email, telephone and/or visits to the courses/clubs and in the Guest Portal where pre-booked times are earmarked for PT Golf’s Guests. Registration for our competitions is made in the Guest Portal and several competitions are shared with our Guests on the Spanish side.

In the Guest Portal, 10 rounds (own game and competitions) can be booked from home, while the rest are booked on site in the Algarve according to the principle ’play one, book one’. Bookings in the Guest Portal are shared for all our Guests in the Eastern Algarve, which provides variety and games together with both new and old friends.
