Vale da Lapa Village Resort is our five-star accommodation in the Carvoeiro area. The resort sits on elevated ground with views over the sea, surrounded by extensive park-like gardens with ponds, and offers everything a Longstay guest could wish for: its own spa with heated indoor pool, restaurant and bar in the clubhouse, a small shop on the grounds and even its own nine-hole putting green. Many of our golfers gather here during the winter months, and the accommodation is a natural meeting place for our competitions, social gatherings and dinners.
Accommodation
You stay in spacious two-storey duplex villas with modern, bright interiors. On the ground floor there is a large living room with dining area and fully equipped kitchen, plus a terrace overlooking the garden; on the upper floor are the bedrooms with high ceilings and a balcony. We offer villas with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, as well as villas with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped for Longstay visits. All villas have air-conditioning in the living room and bedrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, TV with international channels, a safe and hairdryer. Cleaning takes place every 7 days including fresh bed linen and towels. Parking is free next to the villa, and the area has 24-hour reception and security.
Please note that the villas are on two floors with the bedrooms up a flight of stairs.
Spa, pools and activities
The resort's spa with heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym are included in your stay. The indoor pool has glass walls and a glass roof, creating a bright and airy feel even on a grey November day. Treatments and massage are available at an additional cost. Outdoors there are two pools (unheated) surrounded by greenery and sunbeds. The grounds also feature a nine-hole putting green, two padel courts and a jogging trail.
Food and service
In the clubhouse you will find the resort's restaurant and bar with a terrace, where a breakfast buffet is served at an additional cost and the menu focuses on local ingredients. The Lobby Market on the grounds sells a selection of local products and essentials for the kitchen; the nearest supermarket is about a ten-minute walk away. A few local restaurants are within walking distance – Luisa's, five minutes away, is a favourite with guests.
Carvoeiro and the area
From Vale da Lapa it is about 3 km down to Carvoeiro's sandy beach and town centre, a walk of 20–30 minutes or a few minutes by car. Carvoeiro is a picturesque fishing village perched on the cliffs above the Atlantic with a small sheltered beach, a lively square and plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars serving fresh-caught fish, excellent meat dishes and local ingredients. The atmosphere here is calm and welcoming all year round.
There is much to explore: a few hundred metres east of the village lies Algar Seco, an impressive rock formation sculpted by the Atlantic. A few kilometres away is Benagil Cave, one of Europe's most renowned, reached by boat from the village of the same name. To the west lies picturesque Ferragudo, and for a taste of city life, Portimão with its broad range of restaurants and cultural attractions is a quarter of an hour away.

With us, you have access to the market's by far broadest and finest selection of golf packages with top-class golf courses for all skill levels and preferences. Play just one or a few courses, or try a different course every day. The possibilities are virtually endless!
Booking tee times for your own play is primarily done through our the guest portal (or app), where a core selection of tee times is reserved for our guests. You can also book times via email, telephone or directly on the courses. Entry to our competitions is always made through the guest portal or the app. You can book up to 10 rounds of golf – both your own play and competitions – before arrival, whilst remaining rounds are booked on site on a play-one-book-one basis. the guest portal is shared by all our guests in Western Algarve, giving you the chance to vary your play and enjoy pleasant company with both new and familiar golfing friends.

Accommodation details
West Algarve
We consider West Algarve to extend from Albufeira and westwards. This was where Portuguese explorers set sail in the 15th century on their voyages of discovery around the world. The landscape features mountains inland, rolling cliffs to the west and flatter coastline to the east. In the cities of Silves and Lagos, you can feel history's presence and see preserved traces of the Moorish past and the age of exploration. Algarve's least developed area is the north-western corner with its protected nature reserves, untouched beaches, wild coastlines and dramatic cliffs. Here you'll find Europe's most south-westerly point, Cabo de São Vicente, where the mighty Atlantic makes an awe-inspiring impression.
The hub is Alvor and Portimão with their long beaches and genuine fishing harbours. From here you can reach everything from championship golf courses to the cliff drama of Ponta da Piedade, and in the evening you can enjoy cataplana in the harbour quarters or watch the sunset from Lagos' ancient walls. In winter you'll often have both the golf courses and beaches almost to yourself – and prices are at their best.
