Pelican Alvor

PT Golf’s new accommodation Pelican Resort is centrally located in Alvor with almost no traffic around the accommodation and approx. 10-15 minutes walking distance to the center and the small square and the main streets. Around the area and the surrounding neighborhoods there are many cafes and restaurants that are open all year round. Here, the local population mixes with the tourists in a pleasant way.

Pelican Resort is a very nice accommodation that has been newly renovated to a very high standard, interior as well as exterior. The apartments with one or two bedrooms are bright and well equipped for Longstay visits with fast Wi-Fi, international TV channels and good kitchens. The area has an outdoor pool and pleasant spaces for socializing and enjoyment.

The apartments do not have a washing machine, but we have made an agreement with a local laundry facility where you leave and pick up your laundry, which is finished in one or two days.

Parking is available outside Pelican’s reception with 24-hour security.

Down by the harbor there are many good fish restaurants where the day’s catch is prepared and served directly from the fishermen’s boats. The evening walk in the sunset, or for that matter the morning jog, along the promenade is balm for the soul.

The town of Alvor – founded in 436 as Portus Hannibalis and is very popular and well known as a picturesque, cozy little fishing village with a leisurely pace and pleasant folk life. The pace is calm and in the square the old men sit with their ”bica” and philosophize.

From Pelican you can easily reach our various golf courses in our golf package. The popular Penina golf course  is only a 10-minute drive from the property. The very pleasant and easy-to-walk twin courses Alamos and Morgado (where the European Tour was played) are about 25 minutes’ drive away. It is half an hour’s drive to pleasant and popular Silves. Palmares GC near Lagos is of a very high standard and has sea views on most holes as well as a fantastic view from the clubhouse.

From the accommodation, you can easily and quickly reach several of the courses in the golf package, and no course is more than three quarters of a mile away by car. They all have their quirks and charms, not only in terms of course layout and scorecards, but also in terms of clubhouse, restaurant and facilities. Try around and find just your/your favourites!

Time bookings for your own game are made via email, phone and/or visits to the courses/clubs as well as in the Guest Portal, where pre-booked times are earmarked for PT Golf’s Guests. Registration for our competitions is done in the Guest Portal.

In the our Guest Portal, 10 rounds (own game and competitions) can be booked from home, while the rest can be booked on site in the Algarve according to the ’play one, book one’ principle. 

The time booking in the Guest Portal is for all our Guests in the Western Algarve, which provides variety and games together with both new and old friends.

Upon arrival, you will receive all information regarding the golf game from our on-site golf host. 

Visits includes accommodation, daily green fees, optional car hire and championship courses within easy reach.
