Our apartments in Cabanas de Tavira are situated in charming and well-positioned residential blocks in the Cabanas Downtown area – one of the most appreciated locations in the village. Here you stay just a stone's throw from the beautiful beachfront promenade, lined with restaurants, bars and cafés, where you can settle down with a coffee in the morning sun or enjoy fresh fish for dinner as the sun sets over the lagoon.

The apartments are well suited for both longer and shorter stays. There are options with one or two bedrooms and apartments with private roof terraces – perfect if you want to enjoy the Algarve weather in peace and quiet. Everything is designed so you feel at home, yet with a holiday feel all year round.

Over recent years, Cabanas has grown from a small, peaceful fishing village into one of eastern Algarve's most authentic and beloved destinations. Despite this development, the village has retained its intimate character. The pace of life is a little slower here and life still revolves around the sea and the unique nature of Ria Formosa – the protected lagoon system that stretches along the coast and creates fantastic opportunities for boat trips, birdwatching and beach excursions.

During the winter season, the atmosphere in the village is calm and relaxing, but never deserted. Local fishermen still moor at the quay, small shops are open and local restaurants serve both classic Portuguese dishes and international favourites. Several of PT Golf's popular social and dining evenings are held right here, often with music, good food and many happy reunions.

From Cabanas you have 'everything nearby'. To charming, historic Tavira it's just a short 10-minute drive and to Spain roughly half an hour. The coastline from Cabanas eastwards towards the Spanish border is a long stretch of fantastic sandy beaches, all easily reached by car via the coastal road N-125. The A22 motorway – Via de Infante – is easily accessed via Tavira or Monte Gordo for trips along the Algarve coast and into Spain.

In Cabanas, you truly have golf just around the corner. To your 'home course' Benamor – where we have daily tee times, weekly competitions and great socialising at the 19th – it's just 5 minutes. The fantastic twin courses Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima are reached in 10 minutes. Within half an hour you're also at the challenging gem Quinta do Vale and the beautifully rolling Castro Marim near the border. On the other side of the bridge over the Guadiana border river are our Spanish courses Isla Canela Old Course, Isla Canela Links, El Rompido and more – all within an hour's drive from Cabanas.

Booking tee times for your own play is primarily done via our the guest portal (or app), where a basic selection of tee times is reserved for our guests. You can also book times by email, phone or directly on the courses. Registration for our competitions is always done in the guest portal or the app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own play and competitions – before arrival, whilst remaining rounds are booked on site according to the principle 'play one, book one'. the guest portal is shared by all our guests in the area, which gives you the opportunity to vary your play and enjoy pleasant company with both new and familiar golfing friends.

East Algarve, from Faro to the Spanish border, is the stretch of coast that has retained most of its original character. Tavira is one of Portugal's most beautiful small towns, with its churches, Roman bridge and excellent range of restaurants. Beyond lies Ria Formosa, a lagoon landscape with islands and long sandy beaches reached by small ferries. Golf is played on courses such as Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Monte Rei.

You'll find life quieter here than in the west: Cabanas and Tavira's island beaches are reached by small ferries, the market hall displays the day's catch, and evenings are peaceful. Monte Rei – often ranked as Portugal's finest course – is the highlight for many visitors, and if you fancy a change of scenery, Spanish Ayamonte is just a short drive away across the Guadiana bridge. Winter is mild and tranquil, with empty beaches and plenty of tee times.
