Visit the local butcher, baker and fishmonger all within less than 10 minutes' walk.
At Cabanas Garden you stay in new, modern apartments fully equipped for self-catering, arranged around a lovely pool area like a small village of its own. The apartments at Cabanas Garden consist mainly of 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom units – some on one level and some with the bedroom upstairs. There are also a very limited number of 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartments – offered subject to availability.
Over the past decade, the village of Cabanas has transformed from a quiet and peaceful fishing village – where local fishermen were the most striking feature – into one of the most authentic and emblematic places in eastern Algarve, to which visitors and tourists love to return again and again. Yet Cabanas remains a small and charming village that cherishes its heritage, and along the seafront overlooking Ria Formosa you'll find a great selection of pleasant restaurants serving fresh fish, excellent meat dishes and a wonderful atmosphere. During the season PT Golf organises a number of social evenings and restaurant nights here with fine food and entertainment.
From Cabanas you have 'everything close by'. Charming, historic Tavira is just a short 10-minute drive away, and Spain is about half an hour. The coastline stretching eastwards from Cabanas towards the Spanish border is a long stretch of fantastic sandy beaches, all easily accessible by car via the coastal road N-125. The motorway A22 – Via de Infante – is easily reached via Tavira or Monte Gordo for trips along the Algarve coast and into Spain.
In Cabanas you really do have golf on your doorstep. To your 'home course' Benamor – where we have daily tee times, weekly competitions and great social life on the 19th – is just 5 minutes away. The fantastic twin golf courses Quinta da Ría and Quinta da Cima are reached in 10 minutes. Across the bridge over the border river Guadiana on the Spanish side are our Spanish courses Isla Canela Old Course, Isla Canela Links, El Rompido and others – all within an hour's drive from Cabanas.

East Algarve
East Algarve, from Faro to the Spanish border, is the stretch of coast that has retained most of its original character. Tavira is one of Portugal's most beautiful small towns, with its churches, Roman bridge and excellent range of restaurants. Beyond lies Ria Formosa, a lagoon landscape with islands and long sandy beaches reached by small ferries. Golf is played on courses such as Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Monte Rei.
You'll find life quieter here than in the west: Cabanas and Tavira's island beaches are reached by small ferries, the market hall displays the day's catch, and evenings are peaceful. Monte Rei – often ranked as Portugal's finest course – is the highlight for many visitors, and if you fancy a change of scenery, Spanish Ayamonte is just a short drive away across the Guadiana bridge. Winter is mild and tranquil, with empty beaches and plenty of tee times.
