Cabanas Beach, Cabanas de Tavira
Our popular accommodation in Cabanas, right next to the beachfront promenade!
Our high-quality and exceptionally popular accommodation Cabanas Beach is just a stone's throw from Cabanas' lovely beachfront promenade, with its restaurants, bars and cafés. In recent years, extensive upgrades have been made to the apartments, which are all very pleasant and fully equipped for a successful Longstay stay.
On the Beach – as it's popularly known – we mainly have apartments with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but there are also a limited number of penthouse apartments with a roof terrace. The area has a very nice pool area which is a natural and pleasant gathering place for our guests.
Over the past decade, Cabanas has transformed from a peaceful and tranquil fishing village – where the local fishermen were the most striking feature – into one of the most genuine and emblematic places in eastern Algarve, to which visitors and tourists love to return again and again. Despite this, Cabanas remains a small and charming village that cherishes its history, and along the beachfront promenade at the edge of Ria Formosa you'll find a fine selection of pleasant restaurants serving fresh fish, excellent meat dishes and a wonderful atmosphere. During the season, PT Golf organises a number of social events and restaurant evenings here with good food and lovely entertainment.
From Cabanas, you're close to everything. The charming, historic Tavira is only about 10 minutes' drive away, and Spain is roughly half an hour away. The coastline stretching east from Cabanas towards the Spanish border is a long stretch of fantastic sandy beaches, all easily accessible by car via the coastal road N-125. The motorway A22 – Via de Infante – is easily reached via Tavira or Monte Gordo for trips along the Algarve coast and into Spain.
In Cabanas, you really do have golf right on your doorstep. To your 'home club' Benamor – where we have daily tee times, weekly competitions and lovely socialising at the 19th – it's just 5 minutes away. The fantastic twin golf courses Quinta da Ría and Quinta da Cima are just 10 minutes away. Within half an hour you're also at the challenging gem Quinta do Vale and the rolling, naturally beautiful Castro Marim near the border. On the other side of the bridge across the border river Guadiana are our Spanish courses Isla Canela Old Course, Isla Canela Links, El Rompido and more – all within an hour's drive from Cabanas.
With us, you'll find the market's by far broadest and best golf packages with high-quality golf courses for all playing levels and tastes. Long and challenging or shorter and more technical. Flat and leisurely or hilly and breathtaking. Play on just one or a few courses, or try a new course "every day". The possibilities are almost endless!
Booking tee times for your own play is primarily done via our the guest portal (or app), where a basic range of tee times is reserved for our guests. You can also book times by email, telephone or directly on site at the courses. Entries to our competitions are always made in the the guest portal or app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own play and competitions – before arrival, whilst remaining rounds are booked on site according to the "play one, book one" principle. The the guest portal is shared by all our guests in the area, which provides the opportunity for varied play and pleasant company with both new and familiar golfing friends.
Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by our golf host who will give you your vouchers for your golf package. Welcome!

East Algarve
East Algarve, from Faro to the Spanish border, is the stretch of coast that has retained most of its original character. Tavira is one of Portugal's most beautiful small towns, with its churches, Roman bridge and excellent range of restaurants. Beyond lies Ria Formosa, a lagoon landscape with islands and long sandy beaches reached by small ferries. Golf is played on courses such as Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Monte Rei.
You'll find life quieter here than in the west: Cabanas and Tavira's island beaches are reached by small ferries, the market hall displays the day's catch, and evenings are peaceful. Monte Rei – often ranked as Portugal's finest course – is the highlight for many visitors, and if you fancy a change of scenery, Spanish Ayamonte is just a short drive away across the Guadiana bridge. Winter is mild and tranquil, with empty beaches and plenty of tee times.
