Cabanas Ocean View, Cabanas de Tavira
Lovely apartments in Cabanas, right on the waterfront promenade!
There are accommodations with excellent locations – and then there's Cabanas Ocean View. Here you step out through the door and find yourself on the waterfront promenade, with Ria Formosa lagoon stretching before you, fishing boats bobbing at the quay and Cabanas Island glinting golden on the horizon. Your morning coffee on the balcony is accompanied by birds in the lagoon; your evening ends with a stroll along the water without needing to move the car. Restaurants are right on your doorstep and the ferry to the beach leaves from the jetty just a few minutes away.
The accommodation
The apartments are modern and bright, with one or two bedrooms, a spacious living room with dining area, fully equipped kitchen and a large balcony or terrace where table and chairs await your breakfast in the sun. The building has a elevator and underground parking, and the apartments are equipped with air conditioning for both heating and cooling, fast Wi-Fi and TV with international channels.
The accommodation is genuinely self-catering: cleaning is not included in the price, but cleaning supplies are provided in the apartment and every apartment has a washing machine, so daily life runs smoothly. There's no reception – instead, you'll get keys, tips and practical help from our golf host, who is in the village throughout the season. Requests for lagoon views or a particular apartment are accommodated subject to availability.
Cabanas
Cabanas is the kind of village you feel you've discovered for yourself. Fishermen still cast their nets in the lagoon in the mornings, oyster farmers bring in the day's catch, and along the newly renovated waterfront promenade the restaurants line up – grilled fish, oysters at fifty a dozen and a glass of chilled white wine as the sun sets behind Tavira. The village has grown in recent years but never lost its character; people greet one another here, and regulars – many of them PT Golf guests – recognise the place year after year.
The beach is reached by the small ferry across the lagoon: five minutes across the water and you're standing on one of the Algarve's finest sandy beaches, stretching for kilometres and almost deserted in winter. Behind the village stands the 17th-century fortress São João da Barra, and on Tuesdays the market sets up with fruit, vegetables and local cheeses. A bakery, fishmonger, butcher and small covered market are all within a few minutes' walk; for larger shopping you'll take the car to Tavira.
From Cabanas you have "everything close by". Tavira – with its Roman bridge, 37 churches and relaxed evening life along the Gilão river – is ten minutes away. To the east, the coastal road N-125 follows a string of sandy beaches all the way to the Spanish border, and you can reach Ayamonte across the Guadiana in half an hour for a Spanish lunch. During the season we gather our guests for get-togethers, restaurant evenings and competition dinners – often at one of the restaurants near the accommodation.
Golf
Golf is literally around the corner. Five minutes away awaits your "home club" Benamor, where we have daily tee times, weekly competitions and a 19th hole that's become something of our living room in Eastern Algarve. Ten minutes to the east lie the twin courses Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima – two of the region's most beautiful, with views over the lagoon and greens that hold their standard year-round. Within half an hour you'll reach the undulating gem Quinta do Vale and the rolling Castro Marim up by the border, and beyond the Guadiana bridge await our Spanish courses.
With us you'll find the market's by far broadest and best selection of golf packages with high-quality golf courses for all playing levels and tastes. Long and challenging or shorter and more technical. Flat and relaxing to walk or undulating and breathtaking. Play just one or a few courses, or try a new course "every day". The possibilities are almost endless!
Booking tee times for your own play is primarily done through our the guest portal (or app), where a basic range of tee times is reserved for our guests. You can also book times by e-mail, phone or direct at the courses. Entries to our competitions are always made in the guest portal or the app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own play and competitions – before arrival, with remaining rounds booked on site on the "play one, book one" principle. the guest portal is shared by all our guests in the area, giving you the chance to play different courses and enjoy pleasant company with both new and familiar golfing friends.
Upon arrival you'll be welcomed by our golf host who will give you your vouchers for your golf package. Welcome!

Accommodation details
East Algarve
East Algarve, from Faro to the Spanish border, is the stretch of coast that has retained most of its original character. Tavira is one of Portugal's most beautiful small towns, with its churches, Roman bridge and excellent range of restaurants. Beyond lies Ria Formosa, a lagoon landscape with islands and long sandy beaches reached by small ferries. Golf is played on courses such as Benamor, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim and Monte Rei.
You'll find life quieter here than in the west: Cabanas and Tavira's island beaches are reached by small ferries, the market hall displays the day's catch, and evenings are peaceful. Monte Rei – often ranked as Portugal's finest course – is the highlight for many visitors, and if you fancy a change of scenery, Spanish Ayamonte is just a short drive away across the Guadiana bridge. Winter is mild and tranquil, with empty beaches and plenty of tee times.
