The small town of Alcochete is very popular and well-known as a picturesque, charming little village with a relaxed pace and pleasant local atmosphere. In the square the local gentlemen sit and drink their "bica – coffee" and philosophise. Alcochete also has Europe's largest outlet, a popular shopping area "Freeport Lisbon / Alcochete Fashion Outlet", well worth a visit.

Accommodation details
Lisbon
About 25 kilometres west of Lisbon lies Estoril, this classic and elegant little resort at the mouth of the Tagus river. Often called the "coast of sun" or "the Portuguese Riviera", Estoril (and neighbouring Cascais) was where Europe's rich, famous and even royal figures sought refuge during the Second World War when Portugal was safe and neutral. Grand hotels and Europe's largest casino were built to welcome them, and it was here that Ian Fleming got the idea for James Bond.
South of the river, in Seixal and Alcochete, you live peacefully and close to nature – with quick access to the capital's culture, restaurants and local life.
The golf courses are nestled in the pine forests south of the Tagus – peaceful, classic courses without crowding. On your rest day, you take the bridge or ferry into Lisbon: tram 28 through Alfama, pastéis de nata in Belém and the view from São Jorge castle. Sintra with its fairytale palaces and Cascais seafront promenade are within an hour, and the winter months offer clear, mild days that are perfect for both golf and city walks.
