Marina Club, Lagos
Stay centrally in the marina – within walking distance of the historic old town, the beaches and the vibrant local life!
Marina Club is a highly popular accommodation where the bright, spacious apartments offer views of the marina and/or pool area. Just outside the door, the well-known small boat harbour and fishing harbour stretch out, filled with sailing boats, motorboats and traditional fishing boats.
A short stroll through the marina and over the little bridge takes you to Lagos' historic centre – one of the Algarve's most charming town centres. Here you'll find cobbled streets, whitewashed houses with colourful doors and windows, and small squares lined with cafés and restaurants. The old city walls, which once protected the town from pirates and invaders, remain in several places. You can also visit Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, a well-preserved fortress from the 1600s, and Mercado de Escravos, a museum in the old slave market house that tells an important part of Portugal's history. Together with small shops, galleries, markets and vibrant local life, this makes Lagos a town where every walk brings new discoveries.
The area around Lagos offers some of the Algarve's most spectacular beaches. Praia Dona Ana attracts with its golden cliffs and turquoise waters, whilst Praia do Camilo is reached via a long wooden staircase and offers one of the region's most iconic views. At Ponta da Piedade, dramatic rock formations, caves and natural arches await – a place that is as impressive from land as from boat or kayak.
To the west you'll find charming coastal villages such as Luz and Burgau, perfect for lunch by the sea after a round of golf. Further afield lies Costa Vicentina, a protected coastal landscape with wild beaches and small fishing villages that feel untouched by time. Just over half an hour's drive away, you can also reach Cabo de São Vicente, Portugal's westernmost point, where the Atlantic meets the horizon in dramatic views.
For those wanting more city life, there's Portimão with shopping, marina and restaurants, and to the west awaits the surf culture of Sagres.
With Marina Club as your base, you'll have easy access to golf, city life, beaches and excursions – all within comfortable distance, year-round.
For golf, the location is excellent – within 8-15 minutes you'll reach Palmares, Boavista and Espiche. Several other courses, both to the east and west, are within 20-40 minutes' drive. As our guest here, you have access to our unique golf package West Algarve – Golf, which means playing on different golf courses along the coast, from Santo António in the far west to Vila Sol in Vilamoura. West Algarve
We consider West Algarve to extend from Albufeira and westwards. This was where Portuguese explorers set sail in the 15th century on their voyages of discovery around the world. The landscape features mountains inland, rolling cliffs to the west and flatter coastline to the east. In the cities of Silves and Lagos, you can feel history's presence and see preserved traces of the Moorish past and the age of exploration. Algarve's least developed area is the north-western corner with its protected nature reserves, untouched beaches, wild coastlines and dramatic cliffs. Here you'll find Europe's most south-westerly point, Cabo de São Vicente, where the mighty Atlantic makes an awe-inspiring impression.
The hub is Alvor and Portimão with their long beaches and genuine fishing harbours. From here you can reach everything from championship golf courses to the cliff drama of Ponta da Piedade, and in the evening you can enjoy cataplana in the harbour quarters or watch the sunset from Lagos' ancient walls. In winter you'll often have both the golf courses and beaches almost to yourself – and prices are at their best.
