El Rompido Residences

El Rompido Residences – golf on the Coast of Light!

Accommodation
You'll stay in a peaceful, modern residential community set back from the village with views towards the sea and the river estuary. The apartments are of a very high standard – bright and tastefully furnished, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and your own balcony or terrace. Some apartments also feature a lovely roof terrace. The grounds are beautifully maintained with gardens, a pool and padel courts, and your car is secure in the garage. Here you'll find the tranquillity of a private residential community with a standard you'll rarely find in a typical holiday resort.

Within walking distance
Just a ten-minute stroll away lies the small shopping centre El Faro, beside the village's two lighthouses. You'll find a well-stocked supermarket, cafés, bars and restaurants, including the popular Doña Gamba. The terraces overlook Río Piedras and the harbour, and the sunsets from here are counted among the most beautiful on the entire coast. A little further down, roughly a kilometre away, you'll find the beach and marina.

The village of El Rompido
El Rompido is an old fishing village that has retained its soul. Along the seafront promenade in the centre are fish restaurants and tapas bars serving the day's Atlantic catch, and the sweet prawns from Huelva are a must-try. Outside the village stretches La Flecha sandbank, a protected natural area between the river and sea. On your rest days, you could visit the market town of Cartaya, just ten minutes away, or the Enebrales nature park near Punta Umbría. If you fancy venturing further, you can reach the Doñana National Park, Seville or Tavira on the Spanish side of the border.

Golf
El Rompido's 36-hole facility with North and South Course is just five minutes away by car, and Nuevo Portil is within ten minutes. Our golf packages Light, Medium and Large give you 10, 15 or 20 rounds of golf of your choice across ten golf courses along Costa de la Luz and into Portugal. If you prefer to play the same course every day, we offer Unlimited Golf at Nuevo Portil, Unlimited Golf at Monacilla & Bellavist. Choose between Shortstay for 14 days with a rental car or Longstay for 30 days.

Costa de la Luz

Costa de la Luz stretches from the Portuguese border at Ayamonte via Isla Canela, El Rompido and Punta Umbría to Huelva. Here the coast is flat, the beaches stretch for miles and the golf courses are varied – from the links-style Isla Canela to the woodland courses at El Rompido. The area is less developed than Costa del Sol and prices are generous.

Isla Canela and Islantilla are the main resorts – modern holiday areas right on the beach with promenades, restaurants and golf on your doorstep. Ayamonte on the Guadiana River offers authentic everyday Andalusian life with tapas bars and a Saturday market, and on your rest day Doñana National Park, the Columbus sites around La Rábida or Portuguese Tavira across the border beckon. Fly to Faro – the transfer takes just over half an hour.
