Carvoeiro is a picturesque and traditional Portuguese resort, located on a fantastic stretch of golden beaches and framed by dramatic nature. The town is beautifully located on the cliffs down to the Atlantic and is a fantastic destination for visitors who want a quiet and relaxed holiday in a characteristic and charming town. The peaceful atmosphere embraces with its many nice small restaurants, cafes and bars where freshly caught fish, good meat dishes and locally grown vegetables and fruit are offered.

There are practically no limits to the number of exciting excursion destinations. Just a few hundred meters east of the city center and beach is Algar Seco, an impressive cave formation caused by the corrosion of the Atlantic Ocean over the millennia. A few kilometers further west, cave enthusiasts will find their fill at Praia de Benagil, which can be visited by boat from the small village of Benagil. These cave formations are considered one of the best in Europe. To the west, a visit to picturesque Ferragudo is recommended, and if you want a dose of 'the pulse of the big city', a visit to Portimão with its wide range of restaurants and culture is recommended.
