The high-class and very popular Estrela da Luz – which means "Star of Light" – is centrally located in the small village of Luz, next to the beautiful church and within walking distance of the beach. Nearby you will find several supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy and a wide range of restaurants, cafés and bars. Here we have apartments with one bedroom and one bathroom as well as larger apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All are fully equipped for a comfortable long-stay stay with kitchen, good Wi-Fi and international TV channels. As a guest you have free access to the resort's heated indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and a well-equipped gym.
Chicca's Restaurant, well-known in Luz for 20 years, is also located here. Chicca's serves homemade dishes with an Italian touch, prepared with local ingredients – with also healthy and vegan options made with organic products from the region.
The village of Luz – often called Praia da Luz due to its location by the sea – is a friendly and hospitable place where locals and visitors meet in a pleasant atmosphere. The promenade is lined with restaurants, cafes and bars, and in just half an hour you can reach Sagres – the "End of the World", where Portuguese explorers once looked out to the horizon before setting sail to conquer the oceans.
Just 10 minutes by car from Luz is the lively city of Lagos, one of the Algarve's most beloved gems. Lagos also offers some of the region's most spectacular beaches, dramatic cliffs at Ponta da Piedade and a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars. A perfect excursion when staying in Luz!
Golf-wise, the location is excellent – in just 10 minutes you can reach Boavista and Espiche – but as our guest here you have access to our entire unique golf package Western Algarve – Optional Golf, which means playing on 15 different golf courses along the coast, from Santo António in the far west to Vila Sol in Vilamoura. There is truly something here for all playing levels and tastes. Long and tough or shorter and more technical. Flat and walkable or hilly and breathtaking. Play on just one or a few courses, or try a new course "every day". The possibilities are almost endless!
Booking times for your own game is primarily done via our Guest Portal (or app), where a basic range of starting times is reserved for our guests. It is also possible to book times via email, telephone or directly on site at the courses. Registration for our competitions is always done in the Guest Portal or app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own game and competitions – before arrival, while the remaining rounds are booked on site according to the principle "play one, book one". The guest portal is shared by all our guests in the area, which provides the opportunity for varied games and pleasant fellowship with both new and familiar golf friends.
