Albur Village is perfectly located in Alvor, about a ten-minute walk from the small square and the two main streets. Around the square and in the narrow alleys around it there is a wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants - many open all year round. Here, locals and visitors mix in a way that gives the village its warm, lively atmosphere.
The area itself is a small and pleasant resort that was completely renovated in 2020, both inside and out, to a high standard. The apartments are bright, fresh and well-equipped for longstay, with fast WiFi, international TV channels and good kitchens for self-catering. There are apartments with one or two bedrooms and some new, very nice townhouse apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The area also offers a pool and pleasant common areas for relaxation and socializing.
Alvor has a long history - the city was founded as early as 436 AD as Portus Hannibalis. Today it is a well-known and appreciated fishing village with a leisurely pace, where life revolves around the marina, the charming square and the winding alleys. Along the quay are fish restaurants serving the catch of the day, and in the port area you can see the fishing boats coming in in the afternoon.
For those who like nature and walks, the area around Alvor is perfect. The Alvor Boardwalk is a long wooden boardwalk that winds through the dunes and the nature reserve at Ria de Alvor - a paradise for birdwatchers and those who want to enjoy the sea breeze. The Praia de Alvor beach is several kilometers long with fine-grained sand and plenty of space, even in high season.
The location also makes it easy to get to nearby towns. In ten minutes by car you can reach lively Portimão and its shopping, markets and the marina at Praia da Rocha. Golfers have several nice courses nearby, including Penina, Àlamos and Morgado.
In other words, Albur Village is an accommodation that combines the comfort of a modern apartment with the charm of a historic Portuguese village – perfect for those who want both peace and proximity to everything that makes the Algarve special.
Golf-wise, the location is excellent – the classic Penina is just a 10-minute drive from the accommodation, and the very nice twin courses Àlamos and Morgado can be reached in about 25 minutes. As our guest here, you also have access to our unique golf package Western Algarve – Optional Golf, which means playing on 15 different golf courses along the coast – from Santo António in the far west to Vila Sol in Vilamoura.
There really is something here for all playing levels and tastes: long and challenging or shorter and more technical. Flat and walkable or hilly and breathtaking. Play on the same course throughout your stay – or try a new course every day. The possibilities are almost endless!
Bookings for your own game are primarily made via our Guest Portal (or app), where a basic selection of tee times is reserved for our guests. It is also possible to book times via email, telephone or directly on site at the courses. Registration for our competitions is always made in the Guest Portal or app. You can book up to 10 rounds – both your own game and competitions – before arrival, while the remaining rounds are booked on site according to the principle of “play one, book one”. The Guest Portal is shared by all our guests in the area, which provides the opportunity for varied games and pleasant fellowship with both new and well-known golf friends.
